Nutrition and Performance

Lausanne, Switzerland. October 23-24, 2008

The Nestlé Research Center will host the fifth annual Nestlé International Nutrition Symposium, October 23-24, 2008 in Lausanne, Switzerland, attended by leading scientists from around the world. The focus of the 5th Nestlé International Nutrition Symposium (NINS) is Nutrition and Performance, and will examine contemporary science and future recommendations for optimal nutrition and exercise performance across life stages.

Designed to be a highly interactive Symposium, the world’s pre-eminent scientists will gather to discuss performance needs not only for athletes, but for people of all ages and stages of the lifespan. Nutrition and its resulting effects on performance will be evaluated from diverse angles – from basic and applied science, to molecular and whole body physiology, to practical applications of this science into effective nutrition interventions.

These topics will be discussed within the context of lifecycle-specific nutrition, exercise and lifestyle considerations for early intervention, peak performance and healthy aging.

In addition to scientific sessions, questions and answers around these topics will be debated in open forums and dynamic discussions. In accordance with the Nestlé International Nutrition Symposia mission, outcomes of the meeting will help stimulate new research questions to continue pioneering discoveries in this area.
